Pool Renovations
As of October 30:
- The pool was drained Monday, October 29 in anticipation of
sandblasting the interior the first week of November.
- Pinegate is currently trying to get a variance from the state
concerning handicap access to the pool. We are planning on installing actual
steps rather than relying on the ladders to enter and exit the pool.
We feel that steps will be better and safer for young children and
members who are not strong and/or mobile enough to use the ladders.
- The permits we [Rick Schulz] receive from the city [Rick Schulz]
will be conditional, depending on the completion of the variance with
the state, and are still being worked on. The permits typically take 6
weeks to attain. This would have been completed by now except for this
handicap variance.
- While we encourage every member to follow the progress of the pool
renovation, we would ask that for safety reasons, please refrain from
entering the pool area while construction is under way. This request is
not only for actual construction time, but for the periods on
non-construction time also.
As of December 2007:
- The deck has been removed. All drains, PVC supply
and return piping, and skimmers have been installed and the pool
is backfilled.
- Work on replacing the pool deck and surfacing
the interior of the pool has been halted until early spring.
- The handicapped accessibility issue was resolved
at a public hearing attended by the President. A minor variation
to the new stairs was required by the State of Ohio.
- All necessary permits for construction have been
obtained now that the handicapped accessibility issue has been
resolved.

A new communication company will be offering high speed internet
service over the phone lines to Pinegate residents as an alternate
to the current provider. More information will follow.

The February and October meetings are required by the By-laws.
All other meetings are at the discretion of the President.
Please note that all meetings occur on the second Wednesday
of each month at 7:30 in the Belknap Community Room, unless
otherwise noted.
